Cinéma vérité, or "truthful" cinema, is a style of film making known for taking a provocative stance toward its topics. Matthew Darringer's writings definitely accomplish that goal. Below is an excerpt of his writing.
I will buy her breakfast at the Village Grill. It is much nicer than Zingo’s but food takes forever to come. That will give her the time she needs to talk.
She held nothing back last night, but that is what they do when they are looking to move on to the next man.
She has a boyfriend she says she is "sorta broken up with but kinda not", but I cannot tell her what I know about him.
I could not sleep after we finished.
I do not want to be the next man.
