Cinéma vérité, or "truthful" cinema, is a style of film making known for taking a provocative stance toward its topics. Matthew Darringer's writings definitely accomplish that goal. Below is an excerpt of his writing.

I will buy her breakfast at the Village Grill. It is much nicer than Zingo’s but food takes forever to come. That will give her the time she needs to talk.

She held nothing back last night, but that is what they do when they are looking to move on to the next man.

She has a boyfriend she says she is "sorta broken up with but kinda not", but I cannot tell her what I know about him.

I could not sleep after we finished.

I do not want to be the next man.

I charge $2.00 (and up) per thousand words for an alpha edit. An alpha edit is a full read of a finished piece looking at plot, characterization, pacing, and errors highlighted with an end-list of issues to address during your revision.

Beta Reader Edit

I charge $5.00 (and up) per thousand words for a beta edit. A beta edit is a full read of a finished piece looking errors to address during your revision.

Re-Write Edit

I can rewrite your piece, but would assume you have engaged me for a beta edit first and that those corrections and revisions have been implemented. The price would be negotiated based on the actual work to be performed, but runs typically $500 per 100 double-spaced pages.

The Salton Sea Chronicles serves as an outlet for news articles, interviews, and fictional stories taking place at the Salton Sea. Bringing attention to this area is essential because Californians cannot afford to ignore the Salton Sea and the environmental holocaust that it could become. If allowed to dry up, the seabed will turn to dust, blow in savage dust storms, and spread toxins in the air to most of the western United States. We must guarantee the Salton Sea a source of water and we must reclaim it. Saving our legacy as Californians is paramount, but protecting future generations from harm is even more so.
